AWS augmented its Direct Connect service at the Equinix MA3 data center near Manchester, England, by introducing 10 Gbps and 100 Gbps connections with MACsec encryption. This expansion improves secure, private connectivity options for customers accessing AWS public Regions, GovCloud, and Local Zones, excluding China.
This facility is the third in England to support 100 Gbps Direct Connect links with hardware-level encryption, facilitating consistent network performance through private connections compared to public internet use. AWS Direct Connect locations worldwide now exceed 150, broadening private network access for enterprise workloads.
