AWS Entity Resolution enables incremental ML-based matching for efficient large-scale data processing

AWS released incremental machine learning workflows in Entity Resolution, allowing enterprises to update entity matches only for new data efficiently, drastically cutting processing time.

AI-ASSISTED REPORTING · RETROSPECTIVE ARCHIVE

Retrospective edition: 2026-05-04. Source published: 2026-05-04. Added to this archive: 2026-11-03. This briefing was prepared later from the linked announcement; it was not published on this website on the historical edition date.

Previously, updating entity resolution in AWS Entity Resolution required reprocessing entire datasets, a time-consuming and costly step inhibiting scalability. The new incremental ML-based matching workflows enable processing only newly added records since the last run, providing up to 95% reduction in processing time—processing million-record increments in under an hour.

Supporting large-scale workloads with up to 50 million incremental records over datasets of up to one billion records, this General Availability feature makes continuous, large-scale entity resolution workflows economically feasible for enterprises, improving efficiency and reducing infrastructure costs. The functionality is available across all AWS Regions where Entity Resolution is offered.
